Stress and Breast Cancer

Dealing with stress and breast cancerRecent research into the link between breast cancer and stress, whether occupational or personal, has become a hot topic of interest both within the scientific community and within the wider public.

While the evidence linking the two seems quite overwhelming, the actual link between anxiety and cancer has not yet been fully explored and understood.

In most studies, researchers have found that increased levels of stress have been related to the likelihood of developing breast cancer in both women and men.

In particular, stress may increase the risk of the disease in women who are premenopausal, while it decreases the risk among those who are undergoing menopause.

While researchers are still unsure about why stress makes the body react in this way, the association between increased stress and cancer is consistent across all stress-related studies to date.
